"What does a home inspection cost?"
Would you call a automobile dealer and ask, "what's the price of a car?" Would  you really expect that car dealer to quote a price based on that inquiry?  Not really. There are too many variables that have not been provided or considered.
Even if the dealer gave you a price, would you consider it, not knowing what you would be receiving?
For example, are you asking for a price on a new or used auto? Do you want a Lincoln or a Hyundai? Do you want it fully equipped or a stripped-down version? Do you want a car from the lot or a special order? Do you want a manufacturer's warranty or are you willing to take your chances with the result of your purchase?
After these qestions have been answered, both you and dealer are prepared to reach an agree-
ment as to the price of your purchase.?"
You wouldn't believe the number of home buyers and realtors who call with a single question, "What's the price of a home inspection?"
Many of these are attempting to purchase a service that they know very little about. They have done no research regarding home inspections; they don't know how to evaluate one home inspection to another; and they certainly don't know if they will be receiving a home inspection report that has any value whatsoever.
Why would an individual who is about to make a purchase that is 5-20 times greater than the purchase of their automobile and one that they intend to use far beyond the lifetime of the car, accept a low-ball price for a home inspection without considering what they will be receiving.
Many of these shoppers are only too happy to receive a low priced home inspection report that indicates that there are no problems with the structure. They receive a false sense of security which didn't cost much. Of course, they received what they paid for - a non-experienced "inspector" with a worthless report and problems with the home through the next several years.
Before you seek a home inspector, gather as much information as you can regarding the procedure. This web-site contains a wealth of information  for a home buyer or seller. Use it as you see fit.
Realize that all home inspections are not identical. There are the Lincoln inspections and unfortunately there are used Hyundai home inspections    ( no reflection upon either of the autos intended).
Is the home inspector who you select an expert in building construction who can testify in court for you if necessary?  Our inspectors are frequently consulted by law firms in legal disputes involving  construction issues. We have the expertise which goes beyond what someone has absorbed by reading a home inspection course. That expertise translates into a comprehensive examination of all properties that we inspect, far exceeding all requirements by the State.

Before you call us for  quote on a home inspection, take the time to read the information contained on this website. We are going to ask if you have when you call. Then we will both be in a position to discuss the home under consideration and what an InspectRite inspection will cost.
But, remember that a 2-3 hour extensive home inspection is going to cost more than a 15 minute walk-through, but in some cases not much more because of the excessive fees sometimes charged for these worthless walk-throughs.
